Freedom of the Expression

The right to freedom of speech is protected under Article 19(1) (a) of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

This right includes the freedom to hold opinions without interference. And to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers. These rights are not absolute, however, and may be restricted in certain circumstances.

Protection of media

Article 19(2) of the Universal Declaration states that

Everyone has the right to freedom of the press and of communication to publish his thoughts. Similarly, Article 10 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights guarantees. The right to freedom of expression, including the right to communicate freely by print, broadcast, and electronic. And other media. However, these rights are subject to limitations prescribed by law.
